do architects get paid?

If someone gets paid to dream up a design like this, I want it to be me.
Cuz that is the easiest job in the world. first of all this lucky guys workin in Qatar and with arabs who got nothgin better to do than pay him excessive amounts of money for his lack of effort and imagination because otherwise they have to spend the rest of their time doing this...

Seriously though the Alfardan Tower in Doha, Qatar looks like a giant doric column. Despite its ugliness i suppose it is practical. Boring but practical. Rectangular, ugly and tall, it definitely can hold a lot of people with its 64 floors and aesthetic verticality. But who really wants to live there? Maybe people that want their buildings facade to be representative of ancient decadence and hedonism.

Personally if i live in a tall building i want it to remind me of the soothing fluidity of my first residence: my mothers womb.

hence Aqua the 262 m residence/hotel in Chicago, USA.
